It had taken Mel forever to find the guild hall again. After it had disappeared, but most of all she had heard rumors about the guild. With Zeno and Kyll gone, there was a new guild master. Her thoughts went on in horror as she thought about who was in charge of the guild. All of the rightful heirs to that throne had disappeared. She sighed as she looked at the door. She knew the hall was pretty large. A regular bang on the door would never be heard. It was only polite to knock. So she waved her hand in front of her. The word "Mallet" turned into a giant mallet for her to pick up. Then she wrote out the word "GONG". Thus a gong appeared beside her. She picked the mallet up and then twisted her body as hard as she could toward the gong. She hit it as loud as she could and the crash of metal could be heard through out the guild hall. She stood there and crossed her arms.
She adjusted her hat and looked at the door. "Hellooooo!!!!" She shouted at the door. "I'm looking for the guild master! I am Melissa Sewelle from the Department of Guild Relations. I'm not here to fight and I'm not here to throw my weight around, but I do have a couple of questions." She looked at the door and then sighed. "As a council member of Guild Relations it is important that you communicate to me and me alone. Please be sure that I travel alone and make sure that all of the guilds who are registered with us are happy, but in return you need to keep us happy."

It didn't take long for Mel to get an answer, in the form of a black shadow forming on the ground at her feet and a tall, thin, vicious looking fellow would rise up out of it, a wicked grin, filled with razor sharp teeth, plastered on his face, beneath his long, pointed, black and white nose. "My my my, no need for such a banging entrancw!" he said before suddenly starting to cackle. "The master is on his way, but who dear are you dear, and why dear are you here?" he asked, his head tilting, further and further and further still until the entire thing was completely upside down, that grin somehow seeming even more menacing than before.
If Mel had done her research on the guild and its members she would recognize the horrifying creature before her as Laughing Jack, a member of the guild who served directly under the guild master as his right hand. If she hadn't done her homework however, which was far more likely, all she would see was another monster, which the guild was admittedly famous for housing.

Mel stood there and looked at the monstrous figure in from of her. She put a hand on her hip as the gong and mallet words disappeared in a glittery poof. She adjusted her hat and then stared at the figure unamazed. She really didn't care who he was at the moment. What she did care about was the fact that the Council was catching up on their paperwork. She had a stack of events that she was assigned to look into, but this one was by far the most interesting to her. She closed her eyes and then put a hand on her forehead as she had already introduced herself. Apparently her feats had not been known so she sighed. "My name is Fancy Mel. I'm the one that helped calm Acnnologia down when he nearly destroyed our city of Era. I'm also the one that had opened the portal getting most of you guild back from Edolas back into our universe. So if you will excuse me. I'm technically you're only friend in the Magic Council here. I need to speak to you guild master." She grit her teeth.

"Those are some high accomplishments madam. However, I rarely trust the magic council or any of its members based on policy and principal alone." Said a new voice from behind Mel. Behind her stood a tall, handsome man, though his appearance was marred by a nasty facial scar. Akryn stood before her, smiling broadly at the shorter woman, his hands on his hips. Normally he would be sporting his big, floppy hat and his long blue coat. Today however he looked far more regal and certainly struck a handsome, sharp figure. Gleaming black and red armor shone in the sunlight with a billowing cape flowing behind him. His white hair was combed back, and a silver longsword hung from his hip, eye patch firmly in place. (Reference ) "I am Akryn Motomiji, guild master of Eclipse Soul. Your fellow council members likely refer to me by different names, such as Blackheart, Butcher of Ba'Shraak, and my personal favorite, that giant, one eyed, asshole." He said with a laugh, offering one of his giant hands to her. "Don't mind Jack here, he works as my right hand man and the guilds first line of defense. His mannerisms and behavior may be odd but he would never harm you unless you attempted to harm the guild. I apologize for not being here when you arrived, my sister in law was getting married. She asked that I officiate the wedding. Do come inside now though, we should have a glass of wine before discussing things. After all, if you are our only friend on the council then we should welcome you as such."

Mel looked at Akryn with a smirk. "I can not drink on the clock, dear guild master." She said as she followed Akryn in. "I would like a cup of tea." She then walked up to the shabby guild door and giggled. "It seem some of these rumors are true. This will concern the council." She put a hand on the door and it fell to the ground. She walked into the guild hall then walked straight to the tavern area. She then sat down in the chair and awaited for the guild master to come into the tavern. Mel kept a cool head on her shoulders. She had a serious discussion to speak with Akryn about. This was something she knew from years and years of life. As soon as he came into the tavern she stressed for him to sit down. "Have your right hand man prepare our tea. We must discuss this now."
She then reached into her cloak and then pulled quite a large binder. She then flipped through the pages and pulled two pages out. One had a hooded figure with a smirk on it. The other had a woman with closed eyes. Each held well known names. Kyll and Zeno. "Hargeon has a ton of property damages done to it. Thanks to a gang of drug dealers, an inside job that our military department had been investigating for months, and a few mages." She pulled out another page with Cirven's face on it. "Apparently Cirven was spotted. On our roster, he was known to be in this guild, but according to some of the prisoners we had questioned, he is no longer affiliated with you. We will be writing him out of the guild, since you have failed to update your roster or have notified us of any changes. For that you will be fined 250 jewel." She then reached into her cloak again and pulled out a calculator. She then reached her hand and held her finger up to silence Akryn because she knew he would then try to speak up about his case. "I do not wish to be interrupted. Though my 'people' skills are rather gone these years, please allow me to finish. Otherwise, you will not like me and I will not cover for your guild any more than I already have." She then began tapping a finger on Kyll's file. The paper began to meld into different pages. Showing all of Kyll's achievements and her criminal charges as small as they were. Affiliating with Frederick, Stealing a flying fish from the fish market, destroying a wedding, freeing prisoners from unliberated areas, fighting along side Zeno when demons began attacking Fiore, fighting off the previous Tartarus guild master. It finally completed morphing to a page with a huge tree in Hargeon. "Kyll, who was reported Missing months ago was sighted in Hargeon town. She was involved in a liberation of child workers and the destruction of an immense amount of property. The market place by the dock is in shambles and still in disrepair." Mel began to type into the calculator as fast as she could. "If she is found guilty of this, your guild will be fined..." Her fingers moved faster across the calculator. "7,000,250 jewel." She then gave a smile. "I will forgo these fines if you give me some answers. As to a couple of things..." She thinned her eyes and then looked toward Akryn as she put her chin on her hands. "What say you, Guildmaster Akryn."[/font]

"Jack does not make the tea. He is a guard and a friend, not a servant." Akryn said with a nod to the tall, thin being as they passed him and he faded into the shadows once more. Once they reached his office, with its many weapons, its wall of wanted posters, some marked off, and its suits of armor and massive vault door, Akryn would pull a small saucer and tea cup from his desk as well as a thin, long, gold and emerald wand. He would tap the cup with the wand before a small bit of steam would begin rising from it, which he would then push torwards her. "Green tea with some lemon and a bt of honey, very delicious. I do hope you don't mind if I partake in something a little stronger. Dwarven malted liquor, six hundred and forty nine years old apparently. Got it as a gift a while back for nailing a nasty mage that a dwarf had been after." he said with a small smirk as he popped the top of the bottle, a thin, purple smoke rising from the bottle as he did so.
Afterwards he would sit there quietly, occasionally taking swigs of his alcohol as he listened. As she drew to an end a small smirk would play across his lips as he leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms over his chest. "Well, the first thing says I is you have a funny idea of how to treat your friends. Normally we ask our questions before we start trying to strong arm each other, I mean its not like I have anything to hide. I've shared everything else with the council so far, including the existence and imprisonment of the Kishin Lord. The only thing I haven't shared is the location of the key and the prison, and you all know why I have hidden that. I have no reason to hide information now unless it happens to be something that would threaten the safety of my guild or the world." he said, pausing to take another drink of his liquor before grinning at her.
"Also, as for the incident involving Kyll, there are two things to that. First of all, that was not Kyll, it was Vierra. She looks the same, it is the same body in fact, but the spirit and intelligence within that body is entirely different. She is not Kyll, and was not a part of this guild at the time of her actions, so the guild can not legally be held accountable for her actions as she joined us afterwards. You do recall the councils recent decision on the accountability and contract obligations of different entities in new bodies, yes? Also, her actions were the result of her conscience demanding she take action against a great injustice. Child slave labor is illegal in this country, yet the authorities had taken no action to keep this crime off of our shores. As such I would say that the council is far more responsible due to its own inaction than Vierra is for her actions. As for Cirven, I was not aware he had officially left the guild. He simply vanished on us, as so many tend to do, including our first guildmaster. But many return with time. If he has done something illegal or immoral however then you know our guild dictates would remove him from our ranks and set him at the top of our priority list. To that end I would very much like a copy of the incident report. If one of my souls has allowed the eclipse to overtake it then it is my duty to end him."
"Now I will address the final issue of your greeting." Akryn said, the smirk falling from his face and a stern, dark look over taking his features. "I would advise you to never again make such idle threats against me or my guild. Your threats of financial destruction unless I give you want you want are tasteless at best and a direct threat to my guild at worst. I will allow no such threats to my family. This institute is a home for mages seeking a second chance, a chance at regaining there morality and becoming proper citizens once more. They need this guild and the shelter we provide far more than we need the council. If you wish to continue any form of communication with me in the future, then it would be wise of you to remember that." He said to her sternly, much like a father would sound scolding a petulant child. "Now then, we have the nasty business of financial threats out of the way, what questions have you?"

"Akryn, my threats are not idle, as the new guildmaster of Yggdrasil had revealed to me that Arcane Spirits are back in our realm," she sipped her tea. "Where the Arcane is involved, Kyll and Zeno are soon to follow. There is Arcane Residue all over the town of Hargeon. Evidence of the residue has been noted in my findings. Arcane magic is commonly used here in Eclipse Soul, as Former Master Zeno was a follower of the priests and priestesses here. Kyll was reported to have taken on the role of Zeno's student according to your records. That were religiously kept and updated in a timely manner." Mel pointed to the profile on her magic which was labeled as 'Arcane Magic- In Training.' Mel took another sip of the tea. Her eyes twitched as she tasted the magical aspects of the tea. They didn't run together in her thoughts. She would have rather had her tea prepared traditionally. She put the cup down and sighed. "Master Akryn, I do not blame you for understanding that we, the royal we, are rather picky for your record keeping to be updated regularly. As this guild did go through a huge change in leadership. So yes consider the fine for Cirven's recent movement to an unregistered guild status revoked." The witch leaned back on her chair and then crossed her legs. She took her hat off to reveal the pointed ears. A side effect of the magic she had encountered in her early years. "Financial threats or not. They are the formalities that I have to present to you before I start my questions." She then reached into her low cut shirt and then pulled out a card from the pocket. "This appeared in my bedroom a couple months ago." She held it up to Akryn. It was a tarot card with the words Judgement on it. "It has recited over and over again that it wishes to bring judgment upon its former master." She put it back into her shirt and then gave him a look. "I attempted to get rid of the damn thing, but it decided that it would rather stay with me. I have tried everything to get rid of it. Left it with someone more capable, burned it in a fiery pit, tossed it into the ocean." She shook her head and then held her hands up in an I don't know fashion. "You see, it decided to stick with me. There's nothing I can do about it. Apparently, it is full of Arcane Energy. Which leads me to a simple deduction." She uncrossed her legs then leaned forward. "Zeno." She put a hand on her hip then put a finger up to her chin. "Now I would be talking more about who Vierra really is. As Master Girana could not give me a good explanation of who these people Viera was involved with are." She sighed. "The reason I am asking is because civilians all over recognized her as Kyll. Then after questioning the criminals, Cirven called out Kyll's name by name. According to one of the leaders of the gang... She had accidentally ported her group into a crate of the illegal magic enhancement drug. The drug not only caused her magic to grow tenfold, but she acquired a sense of who she was." She then flipped through the notebook and pulled out a page. She took out a pair of glasses and began to read from the paper. "Criminal stated: She was left open for attack because she thought she still had her "Heavenly Body" magic. After discovering that she was no longer a cosmic mage, she began to hone her power. Suspect recognized as Kyll began to understand more and more what she was capable of. She then saw the many children who were working in the factory as indentured servants and grew extremely angry. She opened a portal on the ground that was ful of darkness and the criminal even stated that he could hear the suffering screams of those who were either long dead or still alive and tortured. Criminal then began to sweat profusely and lost function of his bodily fluids. Criminal then stated: She drug the body of her victim into the portal and they slowly came out of a portal just like it in the cieling. The leader lightning mage was pale and comatose. Kyll's anger grew so much that she took her victim and opened a portal leading to the edge of a high building. She was then interrupted and forced back by a firery wolf being." She then looked at Akryn. "This attack he described would be one of Former Master Zeno's signature moves. In fact, according to the criminal we questioned. The move is very similar to Zeno's dark magic when he started Shadow Savior."
She took her cup and then stared him in the eyes. "As a rune knight, I turned a blind eye to many things that your former guild members could have been arrested for. As a member of the council originally on the Chair of the Rune Knights, I have stopped many pending arrests headed straight for mages like Kyll, you, Alye, and even Reiki." She stopped and gave a glare at him. "Because I ignored orders that were majority votes to stop these arrests, I was demoted down to this chair. To be the bridge between guilds and the council. Understand that I am doing a good thing for you. However, do not take my gestures of kindness as weakness, Master Akryn." She put her hat back on and sipped her tea again. "So please answer my questions, where is Kyll Vie? Do not lie to me this time."

Akryn stared at the woman before him, rubbing one chin thoughtfully before answering. "Where is Kyll Vie? I do not know, and that is the truth. The woman known as Vierra now is broken and unwhole. Her will, mind, and I suspect body have all been broken, torn apart and put back together haphazardly by someone who does not seem to want Kyll back. I suspect that the ones responsible are the beings known as the Arcane Lords." He said finally, rising from his seat to step behind his desk, staring at the massive vault door. "I am aware, painfully so, of the threat the arcane magics pose to us all. They are powerful, unpredictable, and undocumented. We all know so little of it all. I perhaps know more of it than you though. I have been doing my research you see..... The Arcane Lords are entities of magic from a different place, much like Edolas I would believe. A different dimension of sorts. In that place their rule is absolute and undeniable. It is they whom I believe to be responsible for the disappearance of Kyll and Zeno, to an end I can only speculate and tremble at. Kyll has returned to us as a new person, replaced by this being known as Vierra whom I do not trust. I have only speculations so far, but they are speculations based on what I have seen from other beings from outside our realm who hold absolute power." he said before turning back to her.
"Power corrupts, Lady Mel. Absolute power does so even more. Every day I myself fight the urge to force my will and beliefs onto others, with the knowledge that I perhaps could. Imagine if a being held absolute sway over all, was as like a god. For many their intentions would start out noble, seeking to right the wrongs and horrors of the world and make it a better place. But before long those intentions of kindness become delusions of grandeur. Others view you as a god, and soon you to begin to view yourself as one. You bask in their praises, revel in the use of your power, annihilate those who might oppose you, and in time you come to believe yourself to be the only way it can or should be. Then one day something breaks deep into your world, the tiniest crack of darkness in your paradise. Someone outside of your will, who does not kneel at your name or sing your praises. You peek through this crack, curiously, and see a world much like the one you destroyed. Free will, ego, greed, anger, dispute. You see humanity without guidance and you think to yourself that perhaps here too you shall intervene. It is my belief that the arcane lords are not such noble beings, but driven as much by arrogance and hubris as we are. The difference is that they have the power to enforce such hubris upon us. I do not know where Kyll is, because I am not sure the woman within this guild is truly Kyll. Twice have I stopped beings of immense power, who come from beyond our realm, from invading and conquering us all. Twice it has cost me personally and dearly. I have learned to not trust such powers however. A costly lesson. Kyll, or at least the being so many think to be her, is here, in the guild, being observed. I believe it best that the council leave it as such. As for the card, I can not say. Vierra herself has one, and claims that several others have some as well. I believe they are linked to Zeno somehow, though in what way I do not yet know."

Mel sipped her cup as he talked about the powers of being a god. She remembered her past as well. When she announced to her village what she was able to do, they all flocked to her. Healing, teaching, everything that a hermit witch could do. Then one day, that man came and had her entire village turn around and try to burn her at the stake. Though when they found out what she was capable of they only feared her. She smiled and closed her eyes and sipped the tea some more listening to Akryn explain his views. "So... Vierra is a husk of Kyll. Not my first time seeing this case among mages." She then began to think. "That leads me to my next question. Where there is the Arcane Realm, there is Zeno. Have you heard about his return? Are there others looking for his return?"

"I have heard no news of Zenos return, though I have learned of nothing yet. Either he has yet to return himself or he is in hiding, I am uncertain which would be worse. I can assure you and the rest of the council however that I am prepared for his return, for better or for worse. Now perhaps it is time for you to answer my questions." Akryn said as he returned to his seat, lacing his fingers together and glaring at Mel with a piercing stare, one which could kill. "I sent a request to the council for access to its records months ago, even before I became a guild master, and you have ignored me time and time again. There are no more complete records of wizardry and mischief in the land than the councils records, and you know why I need access to them. Where is Grigorio Rasputin?" he asked in a growl, his aura darkening and his magical pressure rising. She may not be completely familiar with the name, but it would be easy to understand the emotion behind the search. There was rage, and unbridled bloodlust here.

"News of Rasputin is not my area. I do not have access to those files. She sipped her tea and then crossed her arms. "I would be careful, you seem far too prideful to be a guild master, Master Akryn." She was unphased by his aura. "I am neither the Intelligence chair nor am I the chairman." She closed her eyes then picked her tea back up. She then leaned back in her chair and looked at the mage in front of her. "I am only the representative for the guilds who have registered with our council. I am also the councilwoman who finds unregistered guilds and gets them to sign up. So that I have less paper work to worry about." She sighed. "Every guildmaster needs to know. Even though the seat is particularly new. I'm qualified to be your first line of defense when the Magic Council begins raising all hell about your guild. If you were to have a guild member that would say, destroy an entire town by encouraging a tree to grow in the center of it. I will be more than happy to give you access to those files, but if there is something that includes classified material, like say... I don't know... Your reputation as a 'legal' guild member." She gave a smirk. "Then I cannot let you have those files. Nor do I have any access to them." She then sipped her tea again. "You are now in a position of power, Master Akryn, but you can not let that get to your head. As someone who has experienced a whole generation of my own totally decimated by demons, monsters, disease, and Acnologia, you have got to keep your head in the game." Mel looked at Akryn with her ageless eyes. "Or perhaps you never heard the the bed time stories about the hedge witch anyway." She stopped for a moment then looked at her cup. "As this council position requires. I must divulge my judgement of you as a guild master. You have a time bomb in your guild, Master Akryn. In fact you have two time bombs in this guild from what I see. You and the mage you have a leash on. First of all you... You need to get yourself together. Vengeance is not the answer. I have gone out of my way to defend your criminal actions. Promising that he is a bad man and since Eclipse Soul was transferred from Cirven's hands to your hands. You will do your best to provide a place of rehabilitation for the wanted criminals... You're on thin ice, Akryn. The moment you start going down the road for vengeance again, the council will call me a liar, put me in prison and you as well. Don't think no prison can hold you. What I did for you would count as treason. " She sipped her tea. "Second... Vierra. I would be careful of that leash you have on your guild. You may have good friends in this guild, but it feels... Well... It feels rather desolate. Your attitude that you have, Master Akryn, it's not pleasing and to be honest. You may grow on people like a fungus, but right now... You're not symbiotic with your guild. Your pride in your judgement and that this." She began to point around Akryn. "I may look young Akryn, but I wasn't born yesterday. This has got to stop. You keep this up, you're going to find yourself in a world of hurt or even with your own guild members questioning your judgement. I represent ALL guilds. Which includes guilds members."

Akryn couldn't help but find what the young woman said funny. A big laugh erupted from his belly and he shook his head. "You are wrong in me trusting my own judgement, Council woman. My judgement brought Grigori into this guild. My judgement cost this guild thirteen members, including my wife and child." He said, a deep frown on his face. "I despise Rasputin. I want to kill him with my own hands and avenge my friends and family that were torn away. But far more pressing a concern about that beast is the danger he poses to these lands. He sacrificed my guild mates to tear a hole to another realm, to bring forth a demonic army. Or has the council forgotten about that? He is likely even now searching to replenish his necessary ritual items in order to create a new tear. Beyond that he has tarnished the reputation of this guild with his lies and betrayal and he is a black spot upon us that must be wiped clean." Akryn said as he got up and began pacing behind his chair, frowning deeply.
"Your assessment of my skills as a guild master are correct. I am not a good master. I have too many old ghosts with me for the job. However I am doing the job to the best of my abilities, and so far the council has done absolutely nothing to help me. They have not helped me find new members who need us, they have not helped me watch for trouble, they have not help me. I was dropped into this position and told run with it, and so far all the council has done is make clear that it disapproves of me and my guild and make threats." Akryn said through gritted teeth, obviously frustrated with this entire scenario. "So I believe we are done here. I have other duties to attend to rather than the whims and wants of the council and its dogs." he said finally before moving and opening the door for her.
