Just a few more minutes... We have to be close...
He did not know what time it was, or how long the scattered rays of sunlight had been coming down from between the wooden pannels above. Mosa had been exploring the halls of his own mind, tapping into memories and old stored knowledge. Somewhere deep down, he was certain, was the information he needed to figure this mystery out.
For three days, Mosa had been down between the crates of cargo in the of a medium-sized trade vessel. The universe, or fate, had brought him onto the trail of a drug smuggler, or an organization more like it. Three weeks of research, planning and tracking had led to hiding out in the storage after following a group of dealers shipping their next shipment to wherever the ship was headed.
Mosa had not thought his plan through entirely, despite the amount of mental dedication he had committed to this chase of his.
They're almost here. Let's go over this one more time...
He had first come upon the drugs during his brief stay in Shirotsume. Mosa had made himself comfortable in a cheap inn and one bar fight later he found himself out back in the rain with a broken dealer at his feet. The drugs themselves were tiny crystals that dissolved on the tongue and contained some magical properties. The hallucinations, released pleasure chemicals and thought spirals are the least of the drugs effects. Once consumed, the user loses significant control over magic and can no longer judge how much energy spells consume or what their impact on the physical world might be. A dangerous drug to say the least. That night, Mosa climbed down the rabbit hole and has been climbing up the hierarchy of the organisation trying to reach the higher circles. This shipment was being escorted by a squad of five and the drugs themselves came straight from the alchemist. It was to be checked for quality by the leaders. Mosa never suspected or anticipated that it was to be shipped three days away.
"Open her up!"
The rough sailor voice sounded loud enough to startle him awake. Mosa had been drifting again; three days of poor sleeping and eating his last bit of rations...
After the large wooden hatches were opened, a group of sailors came down from the deck. Mosa stealthily made his way from crate to crate as the sailors started attaching the crane hooks to unload the cargo. Once he made his way to the deck undetected, he could hardly contain his astonishment.
They were back in Hargeon, same place they had set sail three days ago, and the surface of the ship looked entirely different.
What the hell is going on here...
Mosa jumped off the ship onto the boardwalk and pulled his hood over his head. He clung to the shadows and waited for the cargo to be unloaded. The crate with drugs was marked by his magic, invisible to those who are not specifically looking for it. Once the crates were unloaded, he would return to find his crate and those to which it belonged...

OOC: I'm bringing Girana with me =P
BIC: In the rather large port town, Vierra had been attempting to fight the urge to shop for cookable food. She had a hard time trying to cook. Every time she burned a dish in front of Girana during camping, she would give an excuse as to why she can cook. Her food was rather disgusting to her. Yet when ever she saw a food item and tasted it she could picture something else to go along with that dish. Yet when she attempted to make it, something would go wrong.
She sat there in the market looking at the fresh caught fish and crab. "I don't know..." She said aloud. The merchant stood with her and continued to urge her to buy the food, but the last time she attempted to make fish, the meal was rather tasteless and the texture was garbage. She raised an eyebrow and then looked at the merchant who held the fish to her face. "Do you have any squid jerky?" The merchant surrendered his biggest sale. Apparently he recognized her from recent trips before. "I'm sorry, I don't know how to cook."
"NONSENSE!" The merchant said. He held up a Sorcerer's Magazine that had a picture of the green eyed mage on the front. Her arms were crossed and she stood behind a table of delicacies from all over Fiore. The headline said 'Fiore's Hidden Treasure: Kyll Vie.'
Vierra looked at the magazine curiously. "No, that's not me..." She smiled.
The merchant sighed and handed her a bag of dried squid. Vierra nodded and paid her dues back. She walked down the market attempting to understand what just happened. She then was shoved aside by a crew member from the docks. The stocky fellow held a crate and was in quite the rush to get this crate delivered. She fell forward and then looked around. She shook her head and shook her head. She scratched her head and looked around. Something seemed amiss about this situation. She walked back up to the merchant. "Excuse me," she said. "Do the crew members from ships personally deliver the cargo?"
"No... They don't. It's usually unloaded from the docks and given to the workers FOR the docks for delivery."
Vierra's lips tightened. She thanked the merchant and decided to looked around for Girana. She would probably want some adventure for the day. "Where could she be?"

It had been ages since Girana had travelled together with another person. Well, other than Ryu, but he didn't count if only because he was always there. To count him would be like counting gravity. A constant was not something than one needed to name. However for accuracy's sake: it was the first time in ages that Girana was travelling together with somebody other than her eternal companion. It was quite the strange sensation for her, especially seeing how it affected her travelling experience. Usually she walked at a rather leisurely pace, since for her there was no such thing as a limited amount of time. Of course if she had to get somewhere before a certain event occurred she might hurry up, but other than that there was nothing which controlled her pace. It wasn't unusual for her to walk from point A to point B, and that if she were to backtrack she would realize that the journey had taken three or perhaps even four times as long as it would have taken if she had just walked in a straight line. And even then she was talking about the difference in time if her method of locomotion stayed the same. That is, slowly and enjoying the journey, rather than hurrying and focusing on reaching the destination. Girana might be an immortal spirit of nature, with power which reached beyond what most humans could imagine, but her physical form wasn't very impressive, especially if she used no magic or other special abilities to enhance it. Thus, when she walked, it was the equivalent of an actual human female of her stature walking. Which meant it was rather slow. So yes, Girana was very used to taking an extremely...relaxed approach to travelling.
Now that she was joining this Vierra on her quest, things had changed somewhat.
For one thing Vierra had a clear goal in mind, and clearly she actually wanted to reach that goal. Girana now had to keep up with the human female as she walked, the dryad being somewhat surprised at how quickly the land passed underneath their feet. She could travel fast if the need really arrived, but she used that ability of hers so rarely that to suddenly travel with purpose and speed was an exotic experience for her. She didn't flag, falter, or otherwise slow Vierra down, but if the woman were to look at Girana it would be clear that the dryad wasn't used to her current circumstances. Not that she evr came close to complaining. If Vierra were to voice worry or suggested to slow down the dryad would just smile and nod, assuring the human that she shouldn't have to slow down just for Girana's sake. Even if Vierra were to go faster she would find that her newest companion would somehow manage to keep up. Whether this was surprising or puzzling for Vierra was not something that Girana bothered to ask.
Then there was the fact that Vierra had to take care of her human body. A concern that Girana didn't share. She didn't mind halting in the night to rest, since she liked to sleep from time to time anyway, but halting for food was not something she would usually have done if she had been by herself. The first time that Vierra tried to prepare food (and managed to burn it) Girana politely refused, and when she realized that Vierra might take offence she quickly explained why she didn't need nor want any food. While she could consume food for extra nutrients and to enjoy the taste Girana usually sustained herself with sunlight and water. Both were easy to find, especially since paradoxically it took less energy for Girana to either drive the clouds away, granting her unobstructed sunlight, or call them to herself, bathing in the rain even as she walked, than she gained energy from the process. Although if one thought about it, Girana wasn't actually creating the rain or the sunlight. She only asked the weather to change according to what she and the plants around her desired, and the clouds would move to fulfil that need. So maybe it wasn't as paradoxical as one might think at a first glance. Of course, this meant that Vierra had to tolerate the fact that their journey was accompanied by both sun and rain. Keeping in mind that her new human companion didn't like rain (or at least, most humans didn't. By now Girana just assumed it was the case for any human until proven otherwise) Girana kept the rain to a minimum, so Vierra wouldn't constantly have to deal with the grey overcast skies dropping water on her head, nor suffer from an actual storm.
So it was most likely a strange experience for both the females, one because she wasn't used to travelling with actual purpose, or to take breaks for food, and for the other because the weather was a lot less fickle than it otherwise would have been, the dryad that accompanied her keeping the lords of heavens from unleashing their wrath, quelling their anger and instead requesting their gentle providence and blessing. And the lords listened.
As for Ryu, he didn't show himself a lot during the journey. If Vierra was observing her two new companions it would be obvious that the spirit preferred to reside inside Girana, only coming out when the dryad wanted to talk to him or if he felt that his presence was needed. What he did inside her was not something she would get an answer to even if she were to ask: Girana would tell her that she would have to ask Ryu, since he knew better than she did, and Ryu would tell her that he'd prefer not to tell her. Although throughout the journey it appeared that Ryu was becoming more relaxed around Vierra, losing his initial suspicion and instead more acting like he had already known her for years. At least, the way that he spoke to her and behaved indicated that. If Vierra showed any surprise or puzzlement at this quick turn Girana would explain that Ryu was actually quite mellow and easy-going. It was extremely easy to get along with Ryu purely because the spirit doesn't really get offended and never really forces his opinion upon others. The only reason he initially reacted with suspicion was the method Vierra had used to greet them, and the longer that Vierra didn't show any sign of being a threat to Girana the less reason Ryu had to stay actively suspicious. Of course, he stayed suspicious on a passive level, but that mostly consisted of him getting Girana to create some distance between herself and the human when it was time to sleep.
Vierra might also have noticed that the bond between the dryad and the spirit was...well...basically like two lovers, only not exactly the same as with humans. They both had as primary concern each other (although Girana a bit less because in her eyes it was impossible for Ryu to not be able to deal with the situation), they both liked interacting with each other, they both became visible happier when talking about the other (if Ryu became the subject of conversation either Vierra or Ryu himself would at some point have to remind Girana that there was a limit to how long you could keep talking about the same subject. Ryu was a bit less energetic, but he also liked to talk about Girana a lot)... They even went so far that it didn't seem like they actually needed to speak for the other to understand what they were thinking.
Now that they had reached civilization Girana had decided that it was better to keep the day sunny. Humans loved the sun, and she already had been given enough rain yesterday. She followed Vierra to the market, since the woman had said that they were coming here because she felt like eating something fishy. However Girana, used to being able to just go at her own pace, got distracted and wandered off, her footsteps guiding her through the market with no particular goal as she looked around, observing the humans and their actions and homes with those forest green eyes of her. Ryu was still dormant, since while he didn't trust humans he couldn't find anybody in the vicinity who he could deal with even if he didn't reveal himself until the last moment. The dryad had visited human settlements plenty of times in the past, but that didn't mean that she didn't end up exploring the place with a look of curiosity every single time she visited another settlement. This town was obviously created when people noticed that there was plenty of fish to be caught in the vicinity, and it had grown until the humans had developed the necessary technology to travel overseas, after which this town had been upgraded from a fishing settlement to a focal point of trade between a large amount of human settlements, and most likely entire civilizations. A clear example of how humans could slowly develop from meek but intelligent animals, settling wherever the resources were most beneficial, into a highly developed and properly organized group which had a strong impact on its surroundings. Girana just hoped that this town wasn't one which actually did its best to get rid of as much nature as possible. It wasn't necessary, and it would just make her sad.
When Vierra looked around for Girana she would find the leaf-clad girl standing near another stall, staring at the fruits that were put on display there. They were exotic fruits, brought from a variety of climates and locations, and the dryad was studying them with clear curiosity and strong intensity. She could recognize most of them, but there were one or two fruits which looked like something she knew but which were slightly different. Maybe they were one and the same but it had just been so long since she'd seen them that the plants had already adapted slightly since that point? Girana just stared at the fruits, as if seeing a puzzle as if trying to solve it. Vierra would have to actually draw Girana's attention before the dryad would stop studying those fruits.
Although if there was one thing that Girana wasn't lacking, it was attention. A petite but clearly properly developed young girl, with large green eyes, messy green hair which looked like foliage, with large pointy ears covered in fur the same dark green as that hair, and a slender but long tail once again covered in that dark green fur. A girl with such strange, even primal and natural, features wearing a strange dress made out of actual leafs, which left her slender arms bare as well as her back even though her neck was surrounded by a thick layer of leafs like some kind of collar. The bare back, were the base of the tail could be seen, a base decorated by a tribal depiction of a lily, formed of green lines that appeared to be part of her skin rather than a tattoo. All that together... They were staring. Pretty much anybody who noticed the short girl to begin with was staring. It was a testament to Girana's focus on the fruit (or just sheer obliviousness) that she wasn't aware of the spotlight which was aimed at her. Unless Vierra wanted to deal with that kind of thing every single time they encountered civilization she would have to find a way to make Girana easier to hide. Granted, since Girana was rather short, and her appearance had as primary colour scheme dark green (and the dryad's skill was light brown rather than the fleshy pink of most humans), for her to hide might actually be rather easy once she was told to hide.

Mosa blended with the crowd of sailors, families, vendors and all kinds of merchants on the boardwalk. The sun was shining so bright that nobody would be suspicious of a hooded man trying to protect his skin. He was just another mage returning from overseas adventures or to otherwise browse the many stalls in the market. One of the members of this drug squad had seen his face before, during that fated bar fight that put the Arcana mage on their tail. That one managed to escape by using a very elusive form of magic that allowed him to turn into a gaseous substance and disappear between the floorboards. The others were unfamiliar with him, as he was with them, and this factor of unpredictability made it necessary for Mosa to have the element of surprise.
The Arcane Binder chose his trajectory carefully. All crates were transported to a seperate area where they were placed in lockable storage containers until the owner or assigned transportation service came to pick them up. Once all responsibility and insurance papers were signed off, the cargo would be released and taken to any of Earthland's four corners. This container area was next to the port, but only authorized personnel could move directly from port to the container area. Security was tight and there were too many witnesses. Mosa could use his magic to trick his way through, but if he was seen by the wrong pair of eyes then harbor security would be notified instantly and his chase would come to a very anticlimatic close. So accessing this storage area from the boardwalk was not an option. He would have to go around the administration buildings, via the market, to find the other entrance to the container depot.
A crate was raised out of the ship in which Mosa had spent three days wasting away. Mosa's irises glowed a bright azure as his vision was scanning for his arcane mark. It was not the raised crate, instead, the azure glow and smoke came from a crate that was still on the deck of the ship. It had been forced open and was now spilling hay used to protect whatever was inside. The drugs were gone.
Shit! They put the drugs in carriable crates and decided to split up...
He had been outsmarted. Without an arcane mark, he had no hope of finding the crates containing the drugs. Going to the storage depot would have been a tremendous waste of time. No, he would now have to identify the only person that could identify him. They could not have gotten far, because the ship's Captain had only just spotted the compromised crate on the deck of his ship. He was shouting and yelling at his sailors to find an explanation. The shades of red and purple conquering his face made it clear that he was running a very tight shift. This must have happened in a moment's notice.
Mosa gathered his will and tried to remember what the dealer looked like the day he got on board. The first sets of features that rushed to the front of his mind had without a doubt been altered already. These guys were professional, they would not take any chances.
The burned hand!
However, this man had had the misfortune of getting his hand burned by magic during the bar fight. It had not healed the day he got on the ship and Mosa speculated it would take a few months for that to heal without a professional healer. To summarize, he was looking for a suspicious individual carrying a crate straight from the docks with a burned hand. Taking that factor into account, the man must be in pain which could compromise his composure and cause him to rush things, thus attracting attention.
A pulse of arcane magic was sent out from Mosa's mind through the surrounding reality. His azure glowing eyes observing the environment, reading between the fabric of reality and the Arcane Realm beyond, looking for a hint, waiting for Fate to push him in the right direction. Of all things, a seagull caught his attention as its feathers seemed to glow that familiar azure blue for a brief instant. A bright flash that could just as well have been his imagination. Nevertheless, he locked onto the gull and followed its path over the market. It descended and dropped an impossibly-timed concentration of nitrogen-rich ammonium oxalate and urate, phosphates, and some earth salts and impurities, onto the hand of a small girl. The crying and drama was overshadowed by what occured right next to the girl. A slender brunette was rudely being shoved aside by what seemed to be a sailor hurrying to deliver the crate he was holding.
Mosa could not help but smirk as he dashed off like a dog behind a bone. He moved skillfully through the crowd, never losing track of his target, like a stream of water between a bed of rocks. Once he was staring to close in, Mosa slowed down and kept the distance. He had to follow this wolf all the way back to its den. The crying of the little girl drew his attention for a second, as his eyes glanced to the left to see the mother crouched beside her daughter cleaning the small guano-covered hand with a tissue and water. This small distraction was enough for him to brush against the same woman the dealer had shoved aside.
Mosa was quick with his words, a lady being shoved twice in the span of five minutes could cause a scene, which was to be avoided at all costs. "Apologies, madame. I was distracted by this poor girl's misfortune," he said with a friendly smile and placed his hand on her shoulder in a reassuring fashion to make sure he had not hurt or upset her. However, he did not wait around long enough to hear her response and immediately continued trailing his target.

Once Vierra was shoved again. She was a little annoyed by the fact, that no one saw her walking. She heard the apology this time and she nodded, then turned around and looked at the violator. "It's nothing..." She looked down at the little girl and smiled. "That's actually a sign of good luck." Then the hand on her shoulder made things seem a little more awkward when she felt a familiar aura. He walked away in too much of a rush for her to respond.
That tickled... Vierra heard in her head. She sighed and put a hand on her head as Pantu opened his 'mouth' again.
"So you're awake?" She walked toward the vendor when she saw Girana, then stopped. "What is it?"
Nothing... Move forward, get your food, let's just get out of here.
"Not going to happen," she said grinning walking over to the dryad. Vierra finally reached Girana and placed her hands on her hips. "Ready for an adventure?" Vierra asked with a sort of giddy look on her face. "I figured we both may be bored from the travelling. There's some suspicious activities going on here. I got shoved by a sailor who was in a bit of a rush delivering a package." Vierra's grin widened as she thought of what happened. "According to the fish merchant, the sailors aren't supposed to deliver their goods in person. In fact everything goes to the port where the dock workers deliver to the vendors or get the package ready for the next ship. There's something awry here. Let's check it out."

OOC: Was told I could join by Vierra. Should be fun. IC: Inside of a pocket dimension that not many knew even existed, Trase stood scanning the area out of curiosity. He had only been in the area a few times before but those times he had not taken the time to look around it. It was a barren place almost like what some people would think purgatory would like like. Just an empty space of color. This specific empty space had a purple and black color scheme to it though. Near him was an assortment of items that were just left there. Weapons, med kits, gaming systems and other things were neatly placed around near him. " Sorry bossman, had to make a pit stop on the way and didn't really want to bother you with the stop." A young woman had just come through a portal and came into the area holding two bags full of things. She had blonde hair and wore slightly revealing clothes which showed off a black tattoo on her leg of wings. To add a sort of intimidation factor to things she had two large guns on her back. " Like the look? I think its pretty much a femme fatale type of thing and I like it!" She spun around to show off her new look to him but did not receive any answer for it. " Sorie, we don't have much time for your random stops. I know that in your dimensional space we can get anywhere you have seen before quickly but that doesn't mean you should take your time in doing it." The girl pouted to him. " But a new game came out and these clothes looked too good not to buy from the other store too. Granted I will need to work on them some for them to be better suited for fighting in.." She snapped her finger and a mirror on wheels teleported from its place and in front of her. " Maybe will have to make some type of ethernano armor covering for it or something." Trase sighed. " Sorie..." The girl sighed back at him and teleported the mirror back to its original position. " Yeah, Yeah. I know bossman. To Hargeon we go." She snapped her fingers again and a portal appeared in front of them. Trase stepped in front of the portal and stopped. " Stay here for now. I will contact you when I need you. We have to find this man and rid the world of him. I won't let my mother's mistakes ruin the world anymore." The girl huffed. " You know you shouldn't always do things alone. You lead a group of us that you can have help you." She was too busy looking at herself in the mirror again to notice that Trase had left her and continued to talk while he was gone. Trase had arrived in a alley way where fortunately no one was at to see him move through the portal. He was after a certain man that was an ex-Cor Torva member that his mother had gifted with his abilities in the same way many others in Cor Torva got theirs; experimenting and harsh training. The man had committed multiple atrocities in the world but Onyx Pinion had not been able to find him quick enough. This was there one chance to catch him after catching a lead that he had joined a group in Hargeon that focused on smuggling types of drugs around. He was a sort of enforcer for the group and seemed to have been enjoying it from all the murders he had committed during his time with them. Trase mad ehis way out from the alley way where his eyes caught the figure of Vierra. He did not understand how she was there at all and did not care much at all. He was there on a mission to find and rid the world of a threat that his mother created. No one would get in his way of that at all. Instead of being like his old self and saying hello to Vierra he simply attempted to move by her but for some reason he felt an urge to talk to her. He blamed Gilgamesh for this because he had felt that the aspect longed to be with its brethren so that they could find their master. Gilgamesh also feared doing that the most though and that was why it stayed with Trase over going to Vierra in their last meeting. Trase sighed as he stopped just behind the woman and noticed the leafy girl she was talking to. " Vierra..." His blue eye and red eye stared directly at her and waited for her to turn to look at him. He figured she sensed him already but did not care and waited anyways. " Why are you here? Gilga wanting me to ask and if I didn't he would have caused this urge more and more and it would have pissed me off. Have you found anymore of the aspects?" He didn't care what the other girl thought about what he said at all and just wanted to get it all out of the way so he could continue his mission.

While Girana was looking at the fruits put out on display in the market stall Ryu was focused on other matters. He was hidden inside the dryad, where nobody could find him unless they somehow could sense a spirit hidden within another spiritual creature. Or in Girana's case, a being filled with so much sheer life force that it was constantly leaking out and seeping into her surroundings. The spirit guardian who had bonded himself with the dryad ages ago, already knowing back then that he would never leave her unless it was made impossible to stay with her by external forces, was constantly looking for potential trouble. Ryu was, as a person, rather mellow. As long as you didn't become too annoying, and didn't bother Girana, he didn't really mind your presence, even if he didn't get along too well with you (of course, if you didn't get along with him you counted as somebody who became too annoying quite easily). And since as a being he didn't really have to worry about such things as survival, and didn't have a limited lifespan, he didn't have much drive for anything either. It was very difficult to be tense and a worrier when you knew on an instinctive level that pretty much every problem you encountered could be dealt with by just waiting for it to go away. Or by leaving. So as a person, Ryu usually took the lazier and calmer approach of just wandering through life and seeing what happened. It was a trait adopted by a lot of beings who weren't part of the mortal world. Most of them tended to take a more observant role.
The only reason Ryu wasn't an observer was because of Girana. His Leafy was also not a part of the world that most mortals lived in, but she actively interfered in it. While it was fun and interesting from time to time, that also exposed her to more dangers. Which meant it was up to Ryu to make sure that anything which tried to harm Girana would disappear very, very quickly. For a mellow person as him this was at first somewhat awkward, but after ages of practice he had become quite good at staying mellow even as he carefully scanned Girana's surroundings, using his abnormal perspective and ability to sense things hidden to most to make sure that his dryad was safe from harm. The fact that he didn't really trust humans in the slightest also made him pay more attention. If the humans of Hargeon Town knew just how intensively they were being watched they might just feel uncomfortable. Probably better not to tell them. Humans were rather easily offended. Something about they were the superior race and blah blah blah... Ryu had encountered some really insufferable humans in the past, and they had managed to sour his opinion of humans. Of course not all humans were like that, but if he encountered a human he didn't know Ryu tended to assume they tended to be incredibly selfish, greedy, arrogant, self-absorbed, and in general just of the opinion that as a human they were entitled to everything, and that all non-humans should be glad that they were being tolerated.
Of course, the last one that had tried to abuse that perspective against Ryu had learned something about being tolerated. More importantly, what happened when Ryu stopped tolerating.
Anyway... There were several beings in this town that were drawing Ryu's attention. His sight didn't go through walls and buildings, but he could sense magic and fellow spirits (or souls, if they were trapped within shells of flesh), and a couple of the souls around here were...not like usual. One of them was definitely human, but felt like they had been touched by the same Realm that Ryu and Girana had forcibly been transported through not too long ago. That one approached and then distanced itself again, going after some other human who in comparison was rather average and dull. The other soul was...well...not human. It made Ryu's fur stand on end. Or it would, if he was in a physical form. Since instead he was hidden away inside Girana he just had the feeling of his fur standing on end. It was a good thing that his link with Girana allowed him to hide some things. It wouldn't do to put the dryad on edge. However he had to be careful. As long as he knew the location of all the abnormal entities in this town they should be fine...
Girana meanwhile had her attention drawn towards Vierra when the human female approached her. The dryad smiled at Vierra, noticing that the woman looked giddy and becoming curious and enthusiastic herself. She nodded when Vierra asked if she was ready for an adventure. She didn't often actually do anything like go on an adventure. She mostly just travelled the world, took care of nature, and sometimes stepped in when either the mortal creatures were causing trouble or an external force was threatening nature. She wasn't completely sure what this adventure would be about, but she was certainly going to be a part of it if she had the choice. Of course Ryu would remind her to stay careful. He really was too worried for her safety.
When Vierra explained what they were going to do the dryad's enthusiasm was dimmed somewhat. She realized that for humans what Vierra was talking about was important. If somebody was bypassing the rules the humans had for distribution it most likely was because their cargo was something that wouldn't be allowed to go through the usual routes. It was a good idea to investigate and put a stop to any illegal activities. However for Girana there were one or two problems with interfering with such a clearly human issue. The dryad looked a bit hesitant as her gaze lowered towards the street, her pointy, furry ears drooping.
"Okay, but...are you sure it's all right for me to interfere? This seems to be something which is between humans, and humans usually want to resolve matters amongst themselves. Well, I'll help you, but I can't stay in the town for too long. As you've seen already wherever I go plants tend to grow. This place has been built with stone, which would slow down the effect, but I'll have to be out of the town by nightfall."
The dryad looked rather troubled, but still nodded and prepared herself to follow Vierra. Taking a deep breath she lifted her gaze back up to Vierra's face, her ears going back to their usual position (pointing backwards and upwards).
"What's the first thing we'll be doing to figure out what's going on?"
At that point somebody approached Vierra and talked to her, apparently knowing her. He also mentioned something about being nagged by something. Alarms went off in Ryu's head. This was the non-human that put his non-existent fur on edge. And now that he was closer, he got the feeling there was something even more dangerous going on with this guy. He could be exaggerating, but he quickly reminded Girana to be on her guard. This person was strong, and Ryu couldn't tell what his intentions were. Looking at his body language he looked genuine about just wanting to know why Vierra was here, but you could never know...
Girana meanwhile blinked when the man mentioned aspects. Were those the Aspects that Vierra had told her about, the ones that they were trying to find? What did it mean that this man also knew about them? The dryad stared at Trase, looking rather confused and curious even though she kept silent. The man had addressed Vierra, so it was up to Vierra to respond. The dryad would only enter the conversation if asked to or if it was necessary.

As they were moving away further and further from the market, the number of people on the streets grew thinner and it became harder for Mosa to follow his target without being spotted. The criminal also seemed to get increasingly paranoid, frequently checking over his shoulder and taking many turns instead of the more direct path to his destination. The Arcane Binder assumed that the destination could not be too far away, but he did not want to take the risk of being identified. He would have to take to the rooftops and continue his pursuit from above.
Luckily for him, the street they were in was long and without any crossroads or alleys for the dealer to lose his stalker. Mosa quickly tapped into his intuition in order to find an abandoned building. A wooden door four paces ahead to his right seemed to attract his attention. A subtle burst of arcane energy was used to open the lock and grant him entry to the three story terraced house. Confidently he entered the place, looked around to find the staircase to the top floor and completely disregarded the flabbergasted old man in the armchair looking at this unexpected visitor with perplexed eyes. The staircase was to the right of the small living area with a fireplace on the left wall and a single armchair beside it, facing the front door.
Mosa was about to run up the stairs when from the corner of his eyes he noticed the figure by the hearthfire and stopped abruptly. The awkward second of silence seemed to last a full minute as old man did not speak and Mosa was too busy to question whether he had perhaps misjudged his intuition. The mage shrugged and ran up the stairs without giving it another thought. When he reached the top floor, he immediately spotted a window through which he could climb to the roof. His mind paid no attention to the decoration or contents of the room. If he would have, Mosa would have noticed that the top floor was a room dedicated to the study of magical artifacts. Scrolls, books and all kinds of documents containing valuable information on rare artifacts and items were scattered about. Precious and useful items were sure to be stored in the many cabinets and display cases.
Unfortunately, the Binder perceived none of it consciously. Perhaps he would come across this information when exploring his unconscious later, if he was lucky. All he had seen was an access point to the roof and had effortlessly moved from windowsill to center ridge. Mosa squinted as he concentrated magic between the tips of his thumb, index and middle finger. An light blue needle of energy the size of a toothpick was formed and then faded from view. It was still there, but could only be seen by eyes that could see all the way into the Arcane spectrum. With a strong overhead throw, the needle traveled down and covered a distance of about twenty meters before it struck the dealer between the shoulder blades as he reached the end of the street. The criminal did not even flinch, in fact, he did not even seem to notice.
The projectile itself was designed for stealth tracking and produced an infinite string of arcane energy that would extend until Mosa would eventually run out of energy, which could take weeks if he did not cast any other spells considering the tiny amount of energy the spell consumed and the rate at which his energy regenerated. The target would not be able to escape his stalker now unless the invisible needle was somehow discovered and removed, or the string was cut.
The Arcane mage stealthily ran across the rooftops toward the end of the streets. Suddenly, the sound of a loud engine echoed through the neighbourhood. An armored van drifted around the corner and came to a forced halt in the center of the crossing. The dealer got in and the van raced off as fast as it had appeared.
"Shit!" Mosa exclaimed just an instant before everything turned black. The last thing he remembered was the feeling of his feet losing contact with the rooftiles and gravity greeting him as the ground prepared itself for a hard embrace.

Vierra stood there a little deep in thought from Girana's question. "Our business or not, this is REALLY awkward and off. Something doesn't seem right at all." She turned around and then stopped when she felt the aura. Her eyes hardened to a serious stare when she saw Trase. He began inquiring about her mission so far. Seriously she sat there and began to think back. This entire journey to collect the aspects was looking more and more like a bit of a failure. More over, she began to dwell on the fact that she had gotten NONE of these aspects. Plus there were no signs of them until she ran into Trase. She pushed air out of her nose then took in a deep breath. "No Trase, I have not gotten anything, but Pantu felt a simple tickle from someone here."
I honestly think Gilgamesh would find this interesting. Gilgamesh... I suggest you come along with us. There is something that would peak your interest and mine. There was a pause. Vierra looked to the left and then shook her head. She knew only those who were connected to the Arcane Realm could hear that voice.
She then turned over to Girana. "Don't mind him. He's rather misunderstood. However, he has that vibe of having the 'good intentions' but acting on them in the best way imaginable is going to be well... impossible." She grabbed Girana by the hand and wandered off in the direction the suspicious sailor was going. She grit her teeth and then looked back behind her. "I'd be careful if you want to follow us. We're on a bit of a time crunch here." She looked down at Girana and then smiled lowly she spoke so that Girana could here. "It honestly doesn't matter how much you make things grow here. This town could use a few more trees anyway. Besides. I have a huge respect for your powers. Maybe there would be some other people here who have a love for nature as well."
Vierra slowed down and let go of Girana's hand. She then stopped and put a hand on the ground. "Hold on..." Vierra said she began to look around. She had lost track of the sailor who held a crate in his hand. She walked around looking high and low. 'I know I saw him head this way." She then looked closer and found a button on the ground. She picked it up and then stared at it. "This was on his uniform." She stopped and stared at the ground. Her eyes widened as she felt something. It was almost as if her entire body went off. "Do you feel that?" She asked Girana. It was a magic similar to her's, but different. She slowly walked forward. Looking at the ground she could see bits of blue aura, but they were fast fading away, like bread crumbs that birds ate. The path was randomly disappearing. "This way..." Vierra said. She followed the crumbs of magic until they suddenly stopped. She urged Girana to stop by holding her arm out. Then suddenly a mage fell down right in front of Vierra.
Shocked, this was the same hooded magician that tapped her on the shoulder. She fell to a knee the put her hand on his face. He looked so young. Plus there was a spark that she felt when she touched him. She looked up from where he fell. Nothing there, but she could see bread crumbs from how far he fell. The roof. She looked at the man and sighed. "What happened here...." She looked at him. Unconscious. She stood up and crossed her arms. What do I do? She snapped her fingers. "I don't know if this will make him conscious, but this can heal his wounds. He did fall from the roof. However, we need to pull him away before we draw attention to ourselves. She gripped the man by the arms. That spark again. He definitely was still alive, but his bones were brocken. "He's not going to like this, good thing he's unconscious." She grimaced as she heard the man hit rock after rock with broken legs. Vierra could tell that he was in a bit of pain by the fact that she was pulling him by the injured arms. "You're going to be fine soon..." She finally pulled him into a near by alley way. She noted that Girana was following her more than likely. She put out both of her hands and focused on them. They began to glow shades of pinks and purples. She then straightened her fingers like a blade. She pulled her arms up then lead them down slowly. This ripped a pinkish purple tear in fabric of logic. Two them to be exact. "This is my side of the Realm of the Arcane," she said. "It is small, but you will see it." She smiled as the tears widened. She then spread her fingers and placed her palms on both of the tears. Her eyes warmed. The portals formed into round circles and purple and pink butterflies poured out them. The surrounded the fallen mage and then began to sink into every wound. All of his scratches, scrapes, and broken bones healed. The made him float up and in the air as they surrounded him. The aura from these butterflies were warm and loving. Then finally the gently rested the man to the ground.
Vierra sighed as the portals closed and disappeared. She put a hand on her hip and looked around. What could wake this man up. "Girana. Make it rain. Make it rain hard. Pinpoint it, if you can, right on him. Like a bucket of water."

Trase didn't have enough time at all to really speak as the two women ran off from him. It wasn't like he wanted to keep talking to them though so it did not affect him too much. It did affect the aspect that resided inside of him though. Gilgamesh wanted to know what Pantu was feeling but Trase had an objective to complete while he still could and chasing after Vierra because she was going around a city on some type of hunch. It made things worse when Pantu's voice was heard inside his own head causing Gilgamesh to become even more anxious. Trase shrugged the feeling the aspect gave him off though and continued on his own to find his target.
"Was that the woman you told all o us about, boss?" Trase heard another voice come into his head. This time it was from a magical device that Sorie had created as a way for all of Onyx Pinion to quickly communicate. He knew that Sorie would be watching over him even though he told her to stay and wait. It was what made her dependable at times but also could make her cause issues. Luckily he knew how to deal with her tendencies. He pushed lightly on the right side of his head with his finger and spoke. "Yes. She is here for some strange reason. Don't concern yourself with her though. We need to find this man before he disappears again." She did not respond but he knew to take her silence as a way of her agreeing.
He moved through the city looking for any signs of men who were affiliated with the man he was after but this caused him to find something even better. He found himself in front of a bar with multiple men thrown out across the outside of it. Bluish-white flames laid all around the area also which left a huge clue for Trase to go on. He pushed on the right side of his head again and spoke. "He is close. Keep your eyes open Sorie." He started to move and look around the area but suddenly a portal opened around him and sent him into the area Vierra had herself and the others.
Trase stumbled into the area and looked around it before his eyebrow twitched out of anger. "Gilgamesh...!" He was able to put it all together that Gilgamesh had forced him to go into this area out of his curiosity. "I have a reason to be in that city you idiot! IF we don't stop that man then things will only get worse there! There might not be a city left there or worse!" He yelled out at the aspect that forced him there. "I'm.. I'm.. Sorry but this is just as important too. This can be a way for us to find the others and get Master back!" Trase grit his teeth. "You do this again and I will rip you out of my body and give you to Pantu and Vierra to deal with like I know you fear of happening. For now though I will help you. Sorie should be able to deal with the assignment for a short time." His attention was brought to the others in the room finally. In any other group of people he would have felt more angered about the embarrassment of sounding like he was yelling at himself but with the leaf-woman and memory-less woman he felt pretty much at home with in doing that.
"Yo. Gilgamesh forced me here out of his curiosity. What is going on here?"

Vierra's judgement that something was off, enough so that as outsiders they should still interfere with business that didn't even have anything to do with them, made Girana open her mouth slightly, hesitate while frowning, and close it again, quietly acknowledging Vierra's decision and going along with it. She still felt somewhat wary at the idea of interfering with human matters, at least those that didn't actually seem to be harming nature. Her new companion might be right that whatever was going on was wrong enough that it deserved investigating, but she still remembered some examples of what humans tended to do when they learned that a non-human was getting too noisy. The only reason that didn't stop her when it came to certain other matters was that her own feelings weren't important in the face of humanoids potentially causing lasting harm to their surroundings with whatever their latest obsession turned out to be. Well, maybe it would be different this time. After all, it wasn't like Girana was acting alone here. Vierra was taking the lead, and maybe the other humans wouldn't mind if the one interfering was another human who just happened to have a non-humanoid companion?
The dryad and her spirit guardian both took note of the reaction Vierra had towards the arrival of the presence that Ryu classified as worrying. It was obvious from their eyes that their latest companion did not like the worrying presence. Which was good, because when Ryu thought of a presence as worrying he preferred not to get into too much contact with it. Well, he was friends and acquaintances with too many worrying entities (or at least, he used to be. Honestly he wasn't sure what most people that he knew before he decided to stick with Girana thought of him now. And if they even knew that he was still alive. Difference in perspective of time aside, a thousand years or more can make you hard to remember for anybody). They both kept silent as Vierra quickly answered the man and then grabbed the dryad by the hand, pulling her along as they went after...whatever or whoever it was that Vierra was focusing on. The dryad went along without complaint. The arcane mage's behaviour was slightly odd, but the tree girl couldn't exactly call anybody else out on being odd. It wasn't like she didn't have her fair share of funny quirks either. Vierra's comments regarding how she didn't mind if Girana made more plants grow here left the dryad blushing slightly as she stared at the ground. If it was up to her this place would become another jungle, teeming with life, but she had to take into account the opinions and priorities of the humans that lived here. They might cut down trees, but they still deserved their own homes.
"If I stayed here for too long there would be more than a couple of trees. I might be able to stay for a day or two, but I would constantly have to move around the town to ensure that not a single location becomes completely overgrown. If I stayed any longer than that even those who love nature would most likely get upset that their homes have been damaged..."
"Mere stone and steel won't last long in the face of the eagerness nature has to join Leafy."
Girana nodded as Ryu added his two cents to the whole situation. She was grateful that Vierra at least appreciated the effects of her presence, but that didn't remove the fact that her presence was one that heavily favoured nature over civilization, and if civilization was overbearing nature would quickly rise up and most likely damage civilization in the process. It was truly troublesome at times: she knew that as a dryad making plants grow was natural, but she was pretty sure that other dryads could make it stop if they wished. Either she was unable to stop it, or she simply had yet to figure out how. Ryu didn't know it either, and since he was a lot smarter and knowledgeable than her she got the feeling that there most likely wasn't a way to stop it.
Thinking about this the dryad and her guardian followed Vierra, who seemed to not be completely sure of the location of her target. Of course if she knew where her target was she wouldn't be searching. The dryad kept silent and merely walked after the arcane mage as she tried to figure out how to continue her search, until she asked Girana if she also felt something. The dryad shook her head, but then asked the same question to Ryu mentally. The spirit, who had been more focused on looking out for the arrival of more worrisome beings, focused and widened his search, not taking very long before he noticed those same traces that Vierra had already found. It was similar to Vierra's own magic, so Ryu assumed it was supposed to be a trace left behind only for arcane mages to follow. The only reason he could find it at all was because a) he had a tendency not to follow the same limitations as mortals, and b) he had constantly been in Vierra's presence for at least a couple of days by now, so he had got a good grip on her magic, making it easier for him to also find similar magic. The tree girl resumed her following of Vierra until the female human came to a halt, after which something (or rather, somebody) decided to fall out of the sky and land right in front of them, making the dryad jump startled before realizing it wasn't an attack. A quick scan showed that the man was injured from his fall (all the way from the roof) and unconscious. Vierra looked lost for a moment, then declared that she had a way to heal the man. Girana once again opened her mouth to speak, although this time instead of stopping herself she was interrupted as her companion already began pulling the man away to a place where they wouldn't be disturbed by passers-by who would wonder what they were doing. The dryad once again opened her mouth, but Vierra was already casting.
Girana observed as Vierra showed her a bit of her magic. It was a strange magic, that was for sure. She said that she was going to heal the man, but at first it looked like she was just opening rifts that led from their position to that Arcane Realm. The dryad was wondering how that could be used to heal somebody when Vierra placed her hands on the rifts, turning them into portals from which strange butterflies flew. Girana and Ryu could both sense that these butterflies weren't your average magic. Every butterfly was filled with a caring and affectionate feeling, as if the woman who was calling them forth was imbuing them with her intentions. If her portion of the Arcane Realm was filled with that kind of feelings Girana wouldn't mind visiting it once. Ryu wouldn't mind either, although he was a bit more hung up on the fact that something like the Arcane Realm couldn't possibly be harmless. They both stared with clear curiosity as they saw how the man was gently lifted and how his wounds were healed as the butterflies landed on them. How did that work? Was the energy that made up the butterflies used to fuel the healing process, with that affectionate feeling acting as the guide to how the energy would be spent? It was puzzling, Girana just not understand it very well whereas Ryu was a lot more focused. Whenever he saw a form of magic he didn't understand completely yet he saw it as both his duty and his opportunity to learn it.
The dryad made a face as Vierra told her to basically dump a bucketload of water onto the unconscious man's face after she finished healing the wounds. Did Vierra think that was the best she could do as a protector of life? Well, she hadn't really given a lot of examples of what she could do, so it would be too much to ask for Vierra to know all of her skills yet. However the dryad did shake her head at the suggestion.
"I can do better than that if you only want me to wake him up. If you'll let me..."
Assuming Vierra wouldn't stop her Girana approached the man, kneeling next to him and carefully placing her hand on his forehead. Her companion had done a good job of healing him, so Girana didn't have to follow up. The only thing she had to do was give the man the necessary amount of energy to wake up. That wasn't a very difficult task. Humans, even those who were forcefully knocked unconscious, only needed a limited amount of stimuli to be brought back to the realm of the waking. Girana's hand would grow a gentle forest green as a surge of life energy would flow through the man, re-energizing him. At the same time he would also receive a wave of spiritual energy, which would jolt his mind back into full action. The life and spirit energy combined would do a great job of helping the man wake up, immediately ready to move and act.
While Girana was busy with that Ryu looked at the worrying presence from within the dryad. He had suddenly appeared, so he most likely had used some form of teleportation or dimension walking. It looked like the man still had business with Vierra.

The wind was rushing past his body, Mosa felt it on his skin as his stomach was filled with a tingling sensation, as if butterflies were swirling around inside. However, the momentum and disoriented sense of gravity confused him. He kept falling, spinning, from one direction to the other, up to down, left to right, and the darkness spun with him. He should have hit the ground a very long time ago, but a void had swallowed him whole instead. Suddenly, the darkness instantly turned into blinding whiteness. The tingling sensation intensified and he felt the familiar rush of arcane energy, though he could tell it was not his own. The whiteness began to take form as a mist that surrounded him from all sides. Something was beyond it, Mosa felt, and he reach out the mist retreated as soon as his fingers came near. Then, a face, a smirk, rose from the fog. At the same time, while Mosa perceived the facial expression, the figure was all shadows. Then there was a sting at the base of his skull. It pierced his thoughts and visions and the pain consumed all his attention. As the pain faded, Mosa slowly opened his eyes and as the signals from his physical senses returned, he startled awake with a deep inward breath.
Mosa immediately went sprawling around the space as he tried to get up, and failed, while the adrenaline in his body dictated his flight behaviour. His mind could not understand or assess the situation he was in and there was too much sensory information to process all at once to make a decision. With his body on auto-pilot, Mosa distanced himself from the others. The Binder calmed down as soon as he breathed in several times more and his brain finally put the pieces together. The memories came back, he had been trailing one of the dealers until someone or something had knocked him off the roof. He checked himself for injuries, but all had been healed. It had been quite the fall and without any protective arcane aura, he must have suffered serious physical damage.
"Who... Who are you people? Where is- What am I doing here? Why are you here?" The words came trembling out of his mouth in between quick deep breaths. He collected himself and allowed his body to catch up with his calmed mind. These people, whoever they were, had helped him.
"And uhh.. Thanks..."

Vierra looked at Trase who was tripping out from her secondary healing magic. She turned her head to the new comer from the sky, ignoring Trase's question. The answer was obvious, she was healing a person she believed to be involved in this rather unusual setting. It wasn't anything new to her. It just worked the way she needed it to. "Thank you Girana." Vierra nodded at Mosa and gave a smile. "It's the most we could do to help you out. You fell from a pretty high height." Vierra looked up at the roof. She then looked at Mosa. "So let's see... Introductions. This is Girana." Vierra pointed to the dryad. "Just be careful around her, but we are on a bit of a time crunch with her. I will get into that later. This is Trase. He's rather untrustworthy, mainly because he does his own thing and just so happens to pop up here an there." She scoffed at what she said then looked at Trase. "Stalker much? Oh yes, I'm Vierra Killigan." Vierra smiled and then looked at the mage from the sky. "And you... Well this is the second time we meet and you're welcome."
Vierra looked up at the roof again. "Only way to fall off would be either bad footing or someone pushed you. Speaking of which. I was tailing a Sailor. He had a burned hand. He was carrying a crate. Which was rather odd because Sailors do not deliver their goods in person here. You have any idea where he went?"
Vierra felt odd. She covered her mouth when she finished talking to this blue mage. She wasn't USUALLY this warm to meeting anyone new. When she first met Girana, she just asked for help and Ryu was asking all of the questions. When she was reunited with Trase. She wanted nothing more than to grab her own memory back. Yet some how she felt like a puzzle piece that fit with this man. She didn't even know him. Plus she was quite sure, this guy wouldn't feel the same way with her. The question was not if he DID feel friendly. The question was, why did she feel that way with him? Vierra blushed and looked at Girana. "I do apologize for my behavior Girana."

Trase scoffed at the woman for not answering him. It could have been obvious but he never thought of things that way because there could always be multiple things and reasons for them. He moved closer to the group, not caring at all for how they felt about him at all. He didn't waste any time to speak to the man or answer any of his questions but just listened to Vierra. "Call me what you want. That won't change that I have my own agenda that I plan to focus on in the end of things. Gilgamesh is the only reason that I am here. Nothing less. Nothing more." He made sure to chime in as he was called untrustworthy by the woman he had aligned himself with for now. He looked towards the small leaf dressed woman. He could feel something was different about her but the biggest thing that bothered him was that she did not smell anything like a human at all. What she chose to wear was a sign of this too which made him take note of her in his mind. He did not like being caught off guard by the unexpected after all.
"Vierra..." His attention lashed quickly back onto the woman as he was called a stalker by her. His red and blue eyes looked at her almost as if wanting to stare two giant holes through her. "I already said that Gilgamesh is the one who forced me here. I would not be here otherwise because I have someone that I need to find before things get any worse." Suddenly a voice rang into his head. "Bossman, I found him. What are your orders?" Sorie spoke to him through the device in his head. "Where are you?... OK. I will be there soon. Do not do anything unless you have to." He spoke out as if he was talking to a ghost that only he could hear.
He turned away from the group, not caring at all for if they had any retort for his sudden speech. "I have to be somewhere now. I have found the person I needed to find. Do not get in my way." He didn't say it out loud but he knew that they would meet again because the person he was after was a part of a group who was smuggling things into the city and nearby areas the exact way Vierra had spoke of not too long before. He did not need them to hold him back by attempting to help him. He stopped and spoke out to them again. "Do not interfere in things that do not concern you. You might get into more than you can handle otherwise." He then left the trio to decide what to do next themselves. He did not worry about Gilgamesh at all because he had already knew they would see each other again. Vierra was not the type to stop doing things out of fear.

Girana was somewhat startled when the unconscious man, rather than awakening as if he had merely been asleep, seemed to freak out and immediately created a distance between himself and the two women who had saved him. Usually people would take things slowly after waking up. Girana had made sure to give the man enough energy both spiritually and physically that he could jump into action if he wanted to, but that was more to help counteract the grogginess that was sometimes felt after unconsciousness than that she actually expected him to use it. The dryad wasn't insulted though: just confused.
Ryu meanwhile took the man's behaviour as a sign that he wasn't your usual human. He could already tell because the man held a magic very similar to Vierra's, and it was beginning to look like Arcane Mages were always abnormalities when compared with the general populace. That the man reacted so quickly after waking up either indicated a easily agitated mind, or a mind which was used to being in dangerous situations where you couldn't afford to take your time, even after waking up. More likely to be the latter: the man didn't look particularly flighty. He did look like he wasn't very sure of what was going on, until he recovered and thanked Vierra and Girana for helping him. Since Ryu was basically a part of Girana he could argue that the man also thanked him, but that would just be strange and serve no real purpose. Better to not let the man know that he was here anyway.
Meanwhile Girana recovered from being startled by the man's sudden behaviour and instead nodded to Vierra as the woman thanked her for helping revive the unconscious man. She studied the man in front of them, smiling gently even as she let Vierra do all the talking. The Arcane Mage was a smart woman, so she could explain everything without saying anything stupid or giving away the wrong information. She nodded when Vierra noted that they were on a time limit regarding the dryad. Vierra's description of Trace was somewhat rude, but Girana couldn't help but also giggle slightly at how offhanded Vierra was about the whole thing. The dryad watched as Vierra got to the point pretty quickly with the fallen man. Girana had no clue whether this man could actually help them, but she guessed that asking him shouldn't be a problem. Ryu at the same time agreed with Vierra that the only way that the man could have fallen from the roof was if he had been careless, in which case why was he on the roof in the first place, or he had been forced off the roof. However Ryu had yet to sense anything else on the rooftops. Maybe it had already left? He'd have to pay closer attention to that. He knew that smuggling was normal for humans, so personally he didn't really see the point of this supposed hunt for a sailor who dropped off something which he shouldn't be dropping off personally. Unlike Girana, who wanted to help but mostly didn't know whether she should, Ryu was of the opinion that something like smuggling was neither interesting to him nor any of his business. Sure, he'd help because Girana wanted to help, but if it was left to him he'd just tell the smugglers good luck and go his own way. Why would he care about smuggling?
Vierra's apology confused Girana. Why was the female mage sorry? Did she do something wrong that the dryad didn't notice? The leaf girl looked confused, then shook her head.
"What are you apologizing for?"
Girana's confusion was genuine, so it was up to Vierra to decide whether she believed the dryad or not. Ryu didn't really know what Vierra was going on about either. Probably some human thing. Not very important so far as he was concerned. Vierra's behaviour towards Girana had been fine so far, and how humans interacted with each other wasn't his business. Sure, if they started killing, raping and torturing each other he'd intervene because he found all that stuff distasteful, but nothing of the sort was happening here.
Then Trace talked again, saying stuff that neither Girana nor Ryu really understood. It was clear that this man was somehow connected to Vierra and that he knew about those Aspects that Vierra was trying to find and for which she had asked Girana's and Ryu's help (probably mostly Girana's. Ryu tended to also be more of a bonus in cases like these. Which he didn't mind. Taking the spotlight was for other people). Although when Trace looked at Girana Ryu looked back from within the dryad. He didn't care too much about what the man had to say, but the man himself was clearly not normal, and his presence was one which made Ryu wary. Not completely human, and not the good kind of inhuman either. The fact that he talked to himself wasn't very worrying though: seeing how Ryu was literally a spirit haunting Girana, and Girana was haunted/possessed by a spirit, neither of them was really in the position to feel awkward about somebody else talking to themselves.
Trace's words of not interfering were somewhat more important to Girana though. He basically said exactly the same thing as the reason she thought it wasn't too good an idea for her to interfere with the business of humans. It didn't really concern her besides possibly her sense of morality, and humans didn't like it when external forces started messing with them. Girana looked somewhat troubled, especially when Ryu added his commentary.
"You know, when Leafy mentioned how humans don't like it when she interferes I didn't expect one of the humans to actually come and say it out loud. Does mean that she wasn't hesitant for nothing though. Although I wonder what he meant when he talked about more than we can handle."
Honestly Ryu was a bit sceptical about that. What could there possibly be in this town that he wouldn't be able to handle it? Then again, that Trace most likely didn't know just how powerful Girana was, and didn't know about Ryu either, since the spirit had waited until he had already left the scene before speaking.
