A figure moved through the sand filled landscape of the desert as wind continually blew the sand up and around it. They had their face wrapped up in cloth to make sure that the sand would not get in their face, only leaving a small slit for their eyes to see out of. Nothing was near them for miles but it continued to trek through the sand until it finally was out of the sandstorm.
A merchant carrier vehicle had found its way out of the sandstorm not too long before the wrapped up figure made its way through also. "Whew.." A man wiped his brow with his arm. "I really didn't think we would make it through that sandstorm that time, Peb." A voice yelled back at the driver of the vehicle. "Don't jinx it, Marcito!" Peb moved up from the back of the cart to look closer at his companion. "I just made sure we didn't lose anything in that storm but that doesn't mean you should jinx us if we get caught in another one, idiot!" Marcito chuckled nervously and continued to steer them through the desert.
Peb then noticed a figure behind them in one of the rear view mirrors on the carrier vehicle. He was confused and felt a feeling of dread upon seeing the figure. "Marcito, you didn't see anyone inside of the sandstorm walking while we were there, right? There is someone or something behind us." Peb spoke as he continued to look back at the figure. Marcito looked into the rear view mirror also and saw the figure. "I did not. I will just speed up if anything. It's not like it can catch up to us. Is weird to see someone just walking through a sandstorm though."
Marcito turned his view back to look in front of him and suddenly slammed onto the breaks so that they stopped just before hitting someone in the sand. "Marcito! You idiot!" Peb grabbed at his face after hitting it on the dashboard of the vehicle. He didn't notice the person they had just narrowly stopped in time from hitting. Marcito didn't take the time to respond but instead got out of the vehicle to check on the person. Peb followed him out after noticing what was going on also.
"Hey, are you alright?" Marcito asked the person who was wrapped up in clothing to where their face could not be seen. Marcito stood a couple feet away from the person as Peb stood a few feet behind him. The person moved their face to look up at Marcito revealing a twisted grin which caused Marcito to step back instinctively in fear. Multiple men suddenly jumped out from underneath the sand causing both the merchants to attempt to run back to their vehicle. They were quickly stopped by the men though as they cut them off in their running away. "Can't let you boys get away so quickly. We have some use for you. Either you come willingly.." The man who was laying on the ground stood up, now holding a long dagger. "..Or we force you to come with a few broken bones and possible missing body parts. Nothing personal but business is business."
Suddenly the two men blocking Marcito and Peb dropped to the floor from two quick strikes in a gust of wind. The cloaked person that seemed to be following them was now in front of them with black metal over his hands. "Like you said, business is business." The rest of the men stood looking confused at him while Marcito and Peb looked at his back in fear.
