~Three Months Earlier~
Wake up Vierra, we have work to do. A voice sounded in Vierra's room in the Karakuri Village. She had taken a liking to the place and found her own little home there. Vierra had worked up a deal with the land owner, as long as she defended the farm land from monsters, she was more than welcome to live there on her own. Vierra had preferred to live on her own because the guild life at the moment seemed a little loud. The problem was, Vierra could not officially leave the guild and remove her guild tattoo. Something just told her to keep it.
Vierra opened her eyes as she looked up at the cieling of her room she saw nothing. She then moved her head up to see a hooded figure in her room. The figure held a blue lantern in his clawed and gnarled hand. He stood there, motionless. Vierra sat up and tilted her head. Then she realized that she wasn't dreaming. She went for the blade on her desk then put it on as fast as she could. Instead the figure pointed at Vierra and slammed her against a wall. That's not normal... Vierra thought as her arms were flailed back against the wall. She stood there in a crucifix pose. This was a familiar feeling. "You... You're..."
From the Arcane Realm? Yes... You Vierra, are my chosen. Do you understand that?
Vierra stared at the figure. Blue flames flew out of his lantern and circled around him. His cloak had changed to purple in this light. That meant it must be red. She could make out the Eclipse Soul marking on the lantern, but there was something different. There was a star in the middle where the moon should be. This was not Eclipse Soul. This was deffinitely other worldly. Vierra struggled as the figure began to inch toward her. She then found herself face to face with a cloak over a man's face with a smirk. It seemed the words just suddenly came out of her mouth. She didn't even know what she was saying. "Pantu..." Vierra's eye widened again. This figure was making her talk.
Oh I can do much more than that, Chosen. The figure flicked his wrist and Vierra fell back on her bed. She attempted to get out of the room. A spirit of the Arcane Realm is the last thing she would want to fight... alone. Do you know WHY you don't want to fight us alone? Do you know WHY you're here? Or do you think you're going to be an individual and continue to cope wondering why you can't cook when you really think you should be able to?
Vierra stopped in her tracks and then turned around to the ghost. "My choices to learn out to cope are mine alone. I do not know any of the answers to your questions, and I don't think I really care.." Vierra opened the door and began to step out.
He mimiced a voice. "HELP ME MASTER SAVE ME! YOU HAVE TO SAVE ME!"
Vierra's mind flashed to a hooded man turning around and then walking away. Vierra leaned her head on the cracked open door and then tears began to pour out. "Why.... Why do you beings of the Arcane Realm always make me remember that hooded man, Pantu?"
What do you think of him every time you remember him?
She gripped a fist and looked down at it. "He wouldn't leave me alone... Why did he leave me alone?"
Good, looks like I found some common ground now...
She turned around to the cloaked figure. ”Pantu, I’m not helping you. Even though I know you chose me. Something tells me to stay away from you. So I will—“ She suddenly saw him make a fist then she crippled to the ground in excruciating pain. She screamed as loud as she could. It felt as if she was burning from the inside out. Burning in her veins. From her fingers to her toes. Cramping in her bones through out her entire body.
Let’s get the rules down here reeeeeal quick little lady. One. You’re going to do as I say. Two. Any time you turn back, the pain you’re feeling will get worse and worse. Until I have no use for you, Vierra. Three. You’re not going to die, because even though I COULD use your body as a meat suit. You’re the only one that can bring him back.
Vierra grit her teeth through the pain. It seemed like forever then she heard ‘bring him back.’ ”W-who…” She yelped. Suddenly the pain stopped.
Why Master of course… Our master. The master who wielded us like spears. The master who was the only thing between us and the hive. The master who held us dear to his heart… His now cold… dead… heart.
Vierra tilted her head. ”I do not have a master.”
”Oh no… You have a master. Not me, but Master. Let me show you.” A flame from his lantern flew out towards her and into her head. She felt a burning sensation on her head and screamed as it moved to her optic nerves. Memories… they are always painful… Vierra grabbed at her eyes placing her hands over them pressing into her face trying to stay the pain. Suddenly she reached her hand out for any possible, morsel of help from the ghost that was in her room. She felt her arm yank forward and up in the air. She could see nothing but white and finally she saw a blurred face. A familiar hood. A warm handsome grin. Even though she was feeling extremely exhausted and sick, she felt like she had an older brother. A familiar feeling. Then it spoke.
”Thought I lost you there…”
Just as he finished his sentence and Vierra reached out to touch his face, she was pulled back to her room. She looked around to see if the figure was there.
So what did you see?
”A man, that man, that hooded man. This time warm… giving…” Vierra stood there and blinked. She put a finger up to her hand and began to chew it. ”He was holding me. He said… I thought I lost you there. Like I had just died.”
Ah yes, the Battle to End Era. It was a very beautiful battle. He used us quite a bit that day.
Vierra looked at the figure in her room. She then walked over to her bed and sat down on it. ”Thank you for the memory, that was nice, now please leave. I do not wish to be a part of your schemes. I just wish to live…”
… I see the ground rules are not going to work here. The figure floated in front of Vierra and stood there floating up and down. Aren’t you the LEASE BIT curious about your past? About Master?
Vierra closed her eyes to concentrate. ”I just want to live… I want to…”
Remember…
Vierra’s eyes began to water and tear up. ”The temptation to remember is so large and so hard to avoid… I don’t know what to do, Pantu.”
You can start by understanding that the blade you have in your possession can be used to bring a key memory back. Vierra, your memories were not sealed WITHIN you. They were sealed with in my brethren. My fellow Major Arcana Aspects. Now they are out there, here in this Realm, trying to make their it on their own with out Master. It’s up to us to find them and bring back our Master.
Vierra dried her eyes then looked at her bracer. ”Tell me how it works.”
We aspects are attracted to one another, as we are controllers of Fate itself. If I call out to one, It will appear in time. Once the aspect is with in fighting distance, you may stab that aspect and then siphon his energy out with that hidden blade. Just keep in mind that you’re not going to be able to use my powers. The magic I gave you.
Vierra nodded and then looked at Pantu. ”What aspect are you?”
I am the Inverted Aspect. Not one of my brethren listened to me when I spoke ill of the hive. The did not want to believe that Master’s death was already planned out by the hive. To make him one with the hive. To make Master… Their’s. I do not want Master to be a part of them.
Vierra sighed as she packed a bag then opened a portal and tossed a couple of items in it. ”Let’s go Pantu… To find out more about Master and hopefully bring him back.”
Present Day
The wind felt hot, like an oven. Vierra began to wonder why she was thinking about how it felt like it was 350 degrees farenheit and how it was perfect to back cookies in. She walked along the canyon way and then stopped in her tracks.
Do you feel that, little lady?
She stopped and looked forward. There was a feeling of being tugged in that direction and like something was being tugged toward her. It felt like a magnetic wave pulling her in that direction only to have something push back. She put a hand out and a portal opened. Vierra grabbed a canteen then closed the portal. She opened the top and then loosened her scarf. She placed the bottle on her mouth then took a gulp. She wiped her mouth and then sighed. ”Pantu, I want you to stop leading me on a ghost chase.”
To a normal person one would think that Vierra was talking to herself as the voice was clearly only heard by her. However, she still talked to it and answered it. It made more people go away and people ask less questions.
I can feel him… Can you feel him?
Vierra shook her head. Close your eyes. Listen… You’re connected to him as well. You share that connection. Only those Chosen can feel it. He hears me call to him.
She closed her eyes. It seemed like hours, maybe several hours. Time had stopped. She then heard it. Pulses like small whispers that kept pounding against her ear… Gently… But she could hear whisps of voices, like it was some sort of language she was not allowed to hear. Then she heard one voice. Pantu’s…
Giiiilgamessssh
Suddenly the voices united.
Giiiiiilgamesh
”Who’s Gilgamesh?”[/font]
